First Damascus of 2025

It's been a crazy year for me, late last year I purchased a Coal Ironworks 12-ton forging press, all these months later, I'm moved to a new location half-way across the country, in a much smaller shop, but the press is up and running. I had grand ideas for a high layer-count billet, but chickened out.

Instead, I went very conservative with the first billet, and this is what I came up with.

The next knife will have additional layers, and I'm hoping it will be a larger knife, but that all depends on how well the next billet turns out.
